United States History II

How did America become the powerful nation that it is today and what are the key events and people that led the way for the country to be in its current position? In this class, students will be introduced to the last 150 years of United States history, focusing on it’s key stages of transition after the Civil war, into the Industrial Age, start of American Expansionism, key technological advances, both World Wars, the Cold War and key historic events that occurred from the 50’s to today. The course will take an analytical and unbiased look at all the main events; questioning major decisions and uncovering new revelations. Students will be asked to use critical reasoning and various resources to analyze major events and forecast the future of the nation.
