Current Events & Debate

Following news and current events is extremely valuable, if one is to try and follow the rapid changes that are constantly taking place in our evolving world. However, realizing that information could be used to mislead, confuse and overwhelm the reader, it is just as important to be able to process the events in an intelligent manner. Students will not only develop their reading and writing skills, but they will also be asked to question what they’ve read and interpret it from a number of different angles; using rhetoric, debate, presentation and logic.  Students will expand their interests and discover other areas which they would have never considered.
